I'm in a bit of a pickle and would appreciate any advice you can provide. What are the risks in investing in Alberta area? I want to invest in some good property there but I am not sure how to go about it. I have seen the ads of many real estate investment experts on that particular area but as I am new to the area I would like to have advices from you people to help me get a better choice.

I have invested in real estate in arkansas, which the prices (purchase price, taxes, ins,) varies greatly from city to city.....It is the same in the other states you have mentioned............have been in for 30 yrs.

I've lived all my life here and have bought/sold many properties. I wouldn't imagine the risks here are much different thatn any place else.
right now the market has softened a bit so there are alot of places that have been for sale a while. Prices have stabilized a bit and some price drops have been talked about.
some suggest waiting a few more months for prices to come down a bit.
LOTS of condos for sale as well as well as many new ones under construction. I think many of the speculators who jumped into the market last year will have a tough go of it this year. Many are putting renters in to something they were hoping to flip upon completion.

Personaly, for me, the prices have gotten too high for me in the cities so I'm looking at smaller towns within an hour of the bigger cities....as well as in Saskatchewan. Stilbaai Property
